Foggy Thursday morning predicted

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, JAN. 26.JAN. 26.JAN. Delhiites will wake up to a foggy morning on Thursday. The weatherman has forecast a mainly clear sky in the Capital. The minimum temperature would hover around 6 degrees Celsius.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Wednesday were 20.3 degrees Celsius and 6.8 degrees Celsius respectively. Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 19.7 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 6.1 degrees Celsius.

While Safdarjung recorded a maximum and minimum relative humidity of 94 per cent and 48 per cent respectively, at Palam the maximum humidity was 100 per cent and the minimum was 51 per cent.

Bomb hoax

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, JAN. 26.JAN. 26.JAN. An anonymous caller informed Delhi Police Headquarters at ITO here today that a bomb had been planted on the Paharganj side of New Delhi railway station. The call was later found to be a hoax.

Soon after the call was received at 7-30 p.m., the Railway Police swung into action and carried out a thorough search at the railway station. But no explosive was found.

According to the police, the call had been made from a public booth near New Delhi railway station. Efforts are on to trace the caller.

Fire in Okhla building

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, JAN. 26.JAN. 26.JAN. A fire broke out in a multi-storey building at Okhla in South Delhi on Wednesday evening. At least 100 people who were trapped in the building were evacuated by fire service personnel. Most of those trapped were working in a call centre. About 10 fire tenders were pressed into service to put out the blaze. Though the exact cause of the fire is not known, it is learnt to have erupted in the basement where auto-spare parts were stored. No one was injured in the blaze.
