Woman, newborn boy die in train at Lingampally
HYDERABAD,
JAN. 26.
A woman died minutes after giving birth to a child in a train at Lingampally station on Wednesday morning.
Geetha (26), a housewife, her three-year-old son, her husband, Sudarshan, and the latter's two younger brothers boarded Konark Express in Mumbai to reach Berhampur on Tuesday night.
Even as the train was reaching Lingampally on the city outskirts, the woman delivered the baby boy. "Unfortunately, both infant and mother died within a few minutes," the Secunderabad Railway police Sub-Inspector, Vithal, said.
The railway authorities have arranged a special coach to transport the bodies to Berhampur.
