HYDERABAD, JAN. 27. Reliance Infocomm and the Department of Posts, Andhra Pradesh, have entered into an arrangement to sell Reliance IndiaMobile (RIM) Prepaid Recharge Vouchers (RCVs) through the post offices in Andhra Pradesh. Announcing this at a press conference here on today, R. Balachandran, Chief Executive Officer of A.P.Circle, Reliance Infocomm, said as its network coverage in the State expanded rapidly, the post office chain became an ideal additional channel to make RIM prepaid RCVs available even up to the village level. Reliance mobile services were now available in 207 towns in Andhra Pardesh as of today, and were being expanded to cover 295 towns. With a subscriber base of 8.5 lakhs in the State, the company was selling the RIM prepaid RCVs in 6,000 retail outlets, he said. The tie-up with the post office means, RIM prepaid RCVs would now be available at up to 104 head post offices, 2,364 sub-post offices, and over 13,000 branch post offices across the State. T. S.Govindarajan, Chief Post Master General, A.P.Circle, said the post office chain was now a multi-service point for customers.
