BANGALORE, JAN. 27. LG Electronics India today launched here an all format DVD rewriter to overcome the format compatibility issues usually faced by the DVD users. According to R. Manikandan, General Manager (sales and marketing IT products), the all format DVD re-writer facilitates reading and writing DVD and CD media. The other features include 16X (max) read/write speed, 8X (max) re-write speed and storage capacity up to 4.7 GB of data which is seven times more than the normal CD media. Yet another product launched was the 17-inch LCD/TFT monitor with new technology. Embedded with an integrated digital high-quality system, it consists of two features such as real colour management (RCM) and adaptive colour and contrast enhancer (ACE). Besides, LG has announced a two-year warranty on the MY PC range of computers. It also comes with a free USB storage device. Speaking later, Mr. Manikandan said the computer market had witnessed a paradigm shift from the assembled PCs to the branded ones. In 2004 the assembled PC market was 55 per cent and the balance branded. In 2005, there will be another 10 per cent shift on the branded side. The assembled market scenario globally was 35 to 40 per cent.
