Isolated rain likely in South T.N. CHENNAI, JAN. 27. Rainfall occurred at a few places over Telangana and isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Kerala and dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Lakshadweep and Karnataka. Jagtiyal (Karimnagar dt.), Ramagundam and Nizamabad recorded 5, 3 and 1 cm of rainfall respectively. The minimum temperature changed little over the region.

They were markedly above normal at one or two places over North coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal at a few places over Telangana, Rayalaseema, at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, north Tamil Nadu, above normal at one or two places over rest Telangana, rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest south interior Karnataka, rest north Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and Kerala, below normal at one or two places over south Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over rest of the region. Belgaum Airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over north Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Forecast for Chennai city and neighbourhood (valid until Saturday morning): Partly cloudy. Minimum temperature will be around 22 degree Celsius.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (valid until Saturday morning): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu. Mainly sunny weather will prevail over north Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
