Nepalese team seeks tie-ups in floriculture

MYSORE, JAN. 27. A 14-member delegation of floriculturists from Nepal is visiting Mysore to explore business opportunities in floriculture and related fields.

In a press release, the Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the delegation comprising members of the Floriculture Association of Nepal (FAN), Kathmandu, will interact with representatives of Women in Small Enterprises (WISE) and the Mysore District Horticulture Society on Friday at Curzon Park, adjacent to the Mysore Palace. The meeting will begin at 10.30 a.m.

The Nepalese delegation is convinced that there is ample scope for cooperation between floriculturists from Nepal and WISE.

FAN, which is led by a successful woman entrepreneur from Kathmandu, Minerwa Bistam, is planning to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with WISE with floriculture as the key area of focus.

Tie-ups

FAN is also looking forward to business tie-ups with entrepreneurs in Mysore district and surrounding areas. WISE has requested its member and entrepreneurs in Mysore and surrounding districts, who are interested in floriculture, to participate in the interaction and have a one-to-one meeting with the Nepalese delegates.

The FAN delegation led by Ms. Bistam comprises its vice-president, Sreedhar Karki; the general secretary, Shekhar Kumar Bista; the executive member, Anu Setling; the programme coordinator, J.B. Tamang; the founder-president, Rajendra Rai; Panita Rai; Namita Maskey of Sagarmatha Agro Biotech Nursery; Arun Chetri of Cut-flower Producers; Tangka Rai and Narayan Acharya of Kumari Flora Farms; Prabindra Mahajan of Ritu Nursery; Shiba Prasad Pokharel; and Karki, an exporter.
