LUCKNOW, JAN. 27. The newly formed parallel Personal Law Board of the Shia sect today denied links with any political party and claimed it was formed to raise the issues concerning the sect. All-India Shia Personal Law Board founder president Maulana Mirza Mohammed Athar said it was incorrect to link the Board with any political party. ``Neither do we have links with any political party nor was it set up on the directions of any political outfit,'' he added. The Maulana denied the apprehensions that the formation of a parallel Board on the lines of the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) would suppress the Muslim community's voice on various issues. ``The new Board would support the various Muslim organisations in raising issues of common concern,'' the chairman added. The Maulana repeated his stand that the Shias were forced to set up a new board as the AIMPLB had failed to raise the issue of "exploitation of Shias' rights.'' He said with the formation of the new board, the Shias would be able to bring their problems to the attention of the government effectively. UNI
