Bangalore DFA in final
CHENNAI,
JAN. 27.
Bangalore District FA XI entered the final of the Fr. McFerran Trophy all-India football tournament with a 4-1 win over Aeronautical Development Establishment (Bangalore) at DBYC Wisdom Town, Redhills, on Thursday. The teams were locked 1-1 at half time.
Bangalore DFA went ahead through B. Prakash in the 19th minute, but Dakshinamurthy equalised in the 26th minute for ADE in what was a keenly fought first session.
Bangalore DFA XI completely outplayed ADE (Bangalore) in the second. Sanath Kumar (48th), Rajendra Prasad (52nd) and B. Prakash (54th) completed the goals tally. In the other semifinal to be held on Friday, Indian Bank will meet Coastal FC (Thiruvananthapuram).
The losing semifinalist received cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
