DHAKA, JAN. 27. Bangladesh's former Finance Minister, S.A.M.S. Kibria, was killed tonight along with three others and about 150 were injured in a suspected grenade blast at a rally organised by the main Opposition party, the Awami League, in north-eastern Habiganj district. The explosion occurred as the rally of the Opposition party, headed by the former Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina Wajed, ended in a school ground in Laskarpur village in the district, media reports said. Mr. Kibria's nephew, Shah Monjur, was also killed in the blast. Reports identified two others killed as Awami League activists. The Awami League leader, Obaidul Quader, said a grenade was thrown as the Opposition rally ended. The party was holding an emergency meeting to review the situation in the wake of the blast. PTI
