BANGALORE, JAN. 27. A 37-year-old woman, Sannamma, was shot dead allegedly by her brother-in-law in Harohalli in Kankapura taluk of Bangalore Rural district on Tuesday night. Police said that on Tuesday night Shivaraj, a farmer and a resident of Saraswathinagar in Harohalli, quarrelled with his wife, Savithri. Following the quarrel, Savithri left her home and went to the house of her sister, Sannamma, who too stays in Harohalli. A few minutes later, Shivaraj, armed with a country-made gun, went to Sannamma's house. On seeing the door being latched from inside, he allegedly opened fire through a window. The bullet hit Sannamma killing her instantaneously, the police said. The police suspect Shivaraj had opened fire to kill his wife but the bullet hit Sannamma. The Harohalli police have registered a case of murder and are on the lookout for Shivaraj.
