THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN. 27 . The Fire and Rescue Services foiled the bid of a 25-year-old youth to commit suicide by jumping from the top of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation's Kairali-Sree theatre complex at Thampanoor on Wednesday night. According to Fire and Rescue Services, Thomas, an employee of the canteen functioning at the Kairali, was spotted on the top of the theatre complex by locals around 12.45 on Wednesday night. The youth attempted the extreme step allegedly because he was not paid his salary, sources said. The efforts by the police to bring down the youth from the top of the 45-feet high building failed, following which Fire and Rescue personnel were called in. A team led by the Assistant Divisional Officer, E. Dharmarajan Nair, reached spot with emergency tender and tried to pacify the youth. Later, three fire force personnel - Ashok Kumar, Sivakumar and Udayan, - climbed to the top of the complex through the backside with much difficulty and brought the youth down.
