SBT suffers second defeat
MARGAO,
JAN. 28.
Goals from Benjamin Ansah and Jules Alberto Dias gave Fransa Pax Sports Club a 2-0 win over State Bank of Travancore (SBT) in a fourth round match of the IX National Football League at the Nehru Stadium here today.
Fransa Pax took the lead in the 31st minute when Benjamin Ansah headed home a flag kick taken by Saikhom Singh from the left.
Fransa, which created more scoring chances in the second half, made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute when Man-of-the-match Jules Alberto Dias' 40-yard long ranger beat goalkeeper Harshal Rahman to find the roof of the net.
Fransa, with two wins, one loss and a draw has seven points, while SBT, which suffered its second defeat, remained on four points from four matches. — PTI
