By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
JAN. 28.
The Institute for Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, Delhi, and the Defence Research Development Establishment, Gwalior, have developed a new `2-deoxy de-glucose' drug for treatment of cancer patients and transferred the technology to Dr. Reddy's Labs here.
Dr. Reddy's Labs will upscale the drug and take up phase III multi-location clinical trials with an investment plan of Rs. 2 crores before taking it to the market, said W. Selvamurthy, Chief Controller, Research and Development, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Delhi.
He told reporters here on Friday that the administration of the drug to cancer patients would help in administering lower dosage of radiation.
