Indian colts in sight of victory

KOLKATA, JAN. 29. Only a miracle can help England from losing the second under-19 Test against India at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.

At close on the third and penultimate day on Saturday, India needed four more English wickets for an innings victory.

Resuming at the overnight score of 337 for five, India added 73 runs before declaring the innings at 410 for eight.

The visitors were 12 for no loss in 13 overs before the lunch break. Between lunch and tea, England lost four top-order batsmen for 92. But skipper Steve Davies rose to the occasion and he played with great responsibility and scored 66 runs. He and Moeen Ali added 74 valuable runs for the fifth wicket.

At close, Ali was on 36 and Adam Harrison was on 2. India is leading the three-Test series 1-0.
