Letters to the Editor
Sir, In the article "Federer cruises" (Jan. 26) Amelie Mauresmo has been described as a "nearly-woman" tennis player. Tennis requires athleticism, muscular strength, and stamina. If muscles are a man's forte, should women not play sports that require strong muscles? Are women expected to have perfectly feminine bone structures? Does anyone not meeting the `criteria' deserve sarcastic remarks? Such remarks are not expected to find a place in a publication such as The Hindu .
