Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the editorial, "Badlands of Bihar" (Jan. 29). The lawlessness in the State portends a danger to federalism. Communalism is an evil no doubt but casteism is no less evil. Bihar might have kept communalism away but that is no big achievement considering the lawlessness in the State.
Sunil K. Iyengar,

T. Pandian,

N. Nageswaran,
Sir, The kidnappings are sure to have a serious impact on school-going children. The country's future is at stake.
Farooq Ali Khan,
