Letters to the Editor
Sir, Paying tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 108th birth anniversary recently, the former Prime Minister, I.K. Gujral, said Netaji would have made a tremendous contribution to communal harmony. The West Bengal Chief Minister, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, emphasised that Bose was among the first to bring Hindus and Muslims together. The moot question is would he have been able to prevent India's Partition. Even Gandhi, who first brought Hindus and Muslims together, failed despite all his efforts to avoid Partition.
B.M. Baliga,
