Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, JAN. 30. Rainfall occurred at many places over Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over south interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are:

Kochi Airport 6, Kozhikode Airport 3, Kozhikode and Punalur 2 each and Valparai, Tuticorin, Nizamabad and Bidar 1 each.

The minimum temperature fell appreciably at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, south Kerala, fell at one or two places over Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, north Kerala, rose at one or two places over Telangana and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over Rayalaseema, above normal over Telangana, appreciably below normal over rest Rayalaseema, below normal over north interior Karnataka, south Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Kerala. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka.
