ERODE, JAN. 30. The Malayali tribal people living in Bargur and Kadambur forest areas in the Erode district have urged the State and Union Governments to grant them Scheduled Tribes community certificates. In this regard, the president of the Hill Tribe Welfare Association, N.S. Ramalingam, made a representation to the Union and State Governments. Already the Malayali tribals living in Salem, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Pudukottai and Tiruchirapalli were given ST certificates. But the 6,000 families in Erode were denied the certificates, he said.
