Indian Colts clinch series

KOLKATA, JAN. 30. India needed just 50 minutes on the fourth and final morning to wrap up the second under-19 `Test' against England by an innings and 106 runs at the Eden Gardens here on Sunday.

This win enabled India take the series 2-0 after having won the opening match at Bangalore.

England resumed with the overnight score of 140 for six but did have the wherewithal to sustain the fight for long.

Within 17 minutes of start, Indian vice-captain Manoj Tewari made the breakthrough having Adam Harrison caught behind by Pinal Shah for eight.

Moeen Ali, the other overnight batsmen, was next to go falling to leg-spinner Piyush Chawla for 41 (153b, 4x4) and the end came rather quickly when Griffiths was run out by Tewari.

Chawla, the man of the match, wrapped up the innings picking the wicket of Lawson to end the innings at 157.

The third and final `Test' begins at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur on February 2.

England — 1st innings: 147.

India — 1st innings: 410 for eight decl.

England — 2nd innings: M. O`Shea c Fazal b Dhiman 4, J. Denly b Chawla 7, W. Gifford lbw b Nabi 13, S. Davies c Shah b H. Singh 66, B. Harmison (run out) 1, M. Ali c Shah b Chawla 41, M.
