RSP(B) flays Government's functioning

By Our Staff Reporter

KOCHI, JAN 30. The RSP(B) State Secretariat owing allegiance to the Thamarakshan faction, which met here on Saturday under the chairmanship of R.K. Narayana Pillai, has expressed its objection to the policies adopted by the Oommen Chandy Government, according to the party leader, A.V. Thamarakshan.

Prof. Thamarakshan said the Government policies were not being discussed by the UDF committee prior to their implementation. The policies announced in the Governor's speech were not discussed in the UDF committee.

The ban on lotteries was a policy decision which affected more than 3 lakh people belonging to the economically backward classes. Even such an important decision was taken unilaterally by Mr. Chandy without consulting the UDF committee, Prof. Thamarakshan said.
