BARODA, JAN. 30. Zaheer Khan will strengthen West Zone's new ball attack in a decisive Deodhar Trophy 2005 league match on February 1 against North Zone, according to Chairman of selectors Kiran More on Sunday. The Indian pace spearhead is playing for the first time this year in the five-team zonal event. West skipper Ajit Agarkar, Siddharth Trivedi are other fast bowlers in the squad, with Ranjit Khirid as the medium-pace option. West Zone is leading the points tally with 10 from two wins against East Zone and South Zone respectively. North is third at present with four points from two games, defeating East and losing to Central. More said that West vs North tie, to be played at IPCL ground, would be telecast live on Doordarshan from 9.00 a.m. The match is scheduled as benefit game for former Baroda Ranji allrounder Mukesh Narula.
