No proof of Jagan's role in Paritala murder so far: SP

By Our Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR, JAN. 30. The Superintendent of Police, R.S. Praveen Kumar, today said the investigation into the Paritala Ravindra murder case had so far not shown proof of involvement of Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, the son of the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who is an accused in the case.

Replying to a volley of questions at a press conference on Sunday night the SP categorically stated that the name of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy was not even mentioned in the confession of Rekhamaiah. On the role of police in the murder, the SP clarified that this aspect too had not came out so far.

Other murders

Asked whether the murder of Paritala had any link with the murders of his follower, B. Prabhakar of Tagarakunta in August last year here, and that of his mentor, M. Venkateswara Rao alias RK, a couple of months later in Bellary, the SP said the angle was yet to be probed.

He stated that Rajani, Bhaskar Reddy and Ranga Reddy were also being questioned in the case. He denied the arrests of Obula Reddy and `pit pit' Basha.

Giving more details of the Paritala case Mr. Praveen Kumar said the killers had stayed for some time at Peddi Reddy's residence in Anantapur.
