HYDERABAD, JAN.30. The Indian Ambassador, N. Suri, hosted a dinner in honour of the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in Beijing on Sunday. Dr. Reddy is the first senior Indian leader to visit China under a new bilateral mechanism which facilitates exchange of visits by senior political leaders of the two countries. The visits would provide a new direction to further cooperation between the two countries, a press release issued by the Chief Minister's Office. Earlier, the delegation of State Ministers, led by the Chief Minister, on its arrival in Beijing was given a warm reception by the International Department of central committee of Communist Party of China. The director-general, Woo, director, Geiping, and the Indian Ambassador were among those who received the delegation at the airport on arrival. The six-day visit by the delegation to China, including Ministers N. Raghuveera Reddy and P. Lakshmaiah, is the first foreign trip to be undertaken by Dr. Reddy. Members of the delegation will hold discussions with Vice-Chairman of the National People's Congress (Parliament), Gu Xiulian, tomorrow, and the Minister of the International Department of the CPC, Wang Jiarui, on Tuesday. Dr. Reddy will exchange views with senior officers of the Chinese Government and the Industry and Agriculture Minister, Du Qinglin.
