Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, JAN. 30. The sky will be partly cloudy on Monday and the minimum temperature will be around 22 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 31.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22.3. The humidity was 71 per cent.

Meenambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 31 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 21.4. The humidity was 75 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended on Tuesday in parts of Besant Nagar, Ayanavaram, Sowcarpet, Tondiarpet, Kilpauk between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work.

Eye camps

About 100 persons were screened at free eye camps conducted in two different areas — Arul Nirai Arokkiya Thottam near Manali and Vallam on Sunday by SMILE. Eleven persons were referred for cataract surgery and free spectacles were distributed.

Handicrafts fair

A `Traditional Handicrafts and Handlooms Exhibition' is being organised at C.P.Arts Centre, Eldams Road, Alwarpet till February 2 by Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation.

Craftswork of about 50 artisans is on display and a discount of 10 per cent on handicrafts and 20 per cent on handlooms is offered at the expo open between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Campaign

A free heart disease identification campaign will be organised at Uthiramerur Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kancheepuram, on February 6 from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for new born babies and children aged up to five.

Chess coaching

The Children's Club, Mylapore, will conduct Chess coaching from February 3 at beginners, middle and advanced levels for children of agegroup between 5 and 15.
