HYDERABAD, JAN. 30. With Muharram drawing near, the absence of a trained elephant to carry the historic Bibi-ka-Alam is causing worry. Even the District Development Review Committee meeting was seized of the issue on Saturday. The district in-charge Minister, Mohd. Ali Shabbir, said he would speak to the Forest Department and zoo authorities and find out whether a trained elephant could be arranged immediately. He informed the Majlis legislator, Akbaruddin Owaisi, that the Nizam Trust had an elephant, but it was not trained. The Government would not mind spending Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 6 lakhs to get a trained elephant, for it would be useful for both Muharram and Bonalu festivals.
