HYDERABAD, JAN. 30. It was a walk back into the past for those who participated in the Shah Ali Banda heritage walk on Sunday, as they trooped in and out of the historic walls of the Rafa-e-Am school, the Jali ki Masjid and other structures which keep alive the heritage of the walled city alive. The walk, which started from the Rafa-e-Am school, one of the oldest schools in the city founded in 1895 by one of the city nobles, Raja Bahadur Venkat Ram Reddy, wound its way through the Khoya Gali, the Shyam Raj Deorhi, Jalpalli Khazana and the historic Panch Mukh Hanuman Temple before culminating at the Aliabad Sarai, which once functioned as a checkpoint for visitors entering the city.
