HYDERABAD, JAN. 30. The AITUC State Council has opposed the tariff hike proposed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, as it would burden both the people and employees. T. Narasimhan, secretary, in a statement issued here on Sunday objected to the board's move to provide water to MNCs, like Coca-Cola, at low rates. It had no right to revise the tariff having failed to provide sufficient water to people even on alternate days, he said. The Communist Party of India CPI (M) has also demanded immediate revocation of the proposed hike. . In a statement here, P.S. N. Murthy, secretary of the city unit, said the hike would affect 25 per cent of the apartments.
