Suspicious death

HYDERABAD, JAN. 30. A maidservant working in the house of a doctor, Kala, died under suspicious circumstances at Vengal Rao Nagar under the Sanjeevareddy Nagar police limits on Sunday.

According to the police, Kala (15) went to work at the house of Dr. Geeta at Vengal Rao Nagar on Sunday and wanted to accompany the doctor to Osmania Hospital, where she is a PG student. Kala used to fall ill frequently and was anaemic for the last one year.

As she was about to board the auto-rickshaw with Dr. Geeta, she is said to have collapsed and gone unconscious. She suffered an injury on her head and chin when she fell.

She was rushed to Osmania Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

The police said Kala was working for Dr. Geeta for the last one year. "Kala has no permanent residence.Dr. Geeta had taken her as a domestic help, after she saw Kala wandering on the street," a police official said.The officer stated that the cause of death could be ascertained only after the post-mortem was conducted.

The Sanjeevareddy Nagar police booked a case of suspicious death.
