MADURAI, JAN. 30. Members of the Seva Dal of Madurai South District Congress unit paid respects to Mahatma Gandhi by organising a function at a park in Harveypatti here today. R. Chockalingam, former secretary of the Madurai urban district unit of the Congress, garlanded a portrait of the Mahatma. N. Ramadas, chairman, Seva Dal, presided. Cadres of Janata Dal (Tamil Nadu), led by K. John Moses, State General Secretary of the Party, also paid their respects to Mahatma Gandhi on his memorial day. Mr. John Moses garlanded the statue of the late leader on Amman Sannidhi Street. K. Sugumaran welcomed the gathering and A.T.S.Lingam proposed a vote of thanks.
