Temperature

MADURAI, JAN. 30. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 31.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22.2 degrees Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Periyar dam today stood at 112.20 feet with an inflow of 69 cusecs and a discharge of 250 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 31.23 feet with an inflow of 63 cusecs and a discharge of 30 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit was 1290 mcft.

The sky remained cloudy in the Periyar dam catchment areas. However, no rainfall was reported.

Suspended

The Commissioner of Police, Vijay Kumar, suspended a constable on charges of "misbehaviour."

According to police sources, C. Ganesan, attached to the Tallakulam (Crime) Police Station, was found to be misbehaving in a drunken mood while on duty.

A case was registered against him.
