NELLORE, JAN. 31. A number of free medical camps were held in Nellore district on Sunday, benefiting a large number of poor patients by bringing medical aid on their doorstep. At the free camp held at the Government Hospital, T.P. Gudur, more than 2,500 patients were examined by specialists in various faculties and were provided with free medicines. At Chavata village of Gudur mandal, about 300 persons were examined by experts who also held an awareness session about preventive medicare. At Seetaramapuram, 250 patients were examined at the eye camp and 55 were identified for surgery. Eye camp was also held at AVS Eye Hospital, Nellore, where 400 patients were examined, 40 of whom were identified for operations. At the free camp at Seetaramapuram, 200 patients were examined for ear, nose and throat diseases and were provided with free medicines.
