This Day That Age
Lala Amarnath, who is at present the Manager of the Indian cricket team touring Pakistan, may play in the next Test to be held at Peshawar. Efforts are being made by skipper Mankad, the Maharajkumar of Vizianagaram and Mr. A.N. Ghosh, president and secretary respectively of the Board of Control, to persuade Amarnath to augment the strength of the Indian team with his all-round ability. His knowledge of the wickets in Pakistan, his ability to use the new ball and to pile up runs fast would be a great asset to the Indian side. It is not yet definitely known whether Amarnath has agreed to play.
