WARANGAL, FEB. 1. Eight naxals belonging to various extremist groups, including one deputy commander of military platoon, surrendered before the Superintendent of Police, M. S. Ravindra. Boggula Sudhakar alias Srikanth of Gurrevula village of Eturunagaram joined the erstwhile People's War as member of the Local Guirrella Squad (LGS) in 1999. He was involved in the attack on the Karepalli police station of Khammam district and five exchanges of fire. P. Laxmi alias Saritha of Bhupathipur of Eturunagaram was a member of military platoon of the Maoists. She joined the group in 2000. B. Ramadevi alias Vennela of Gurrevula village, who joined the Maoists as member of Mahadevpur LGS, recently came out of the group owing to ill-health. Erakala Saraswathi of Bayyakkapet of Tadvai mandal joined as Medaram LGS member in December last. Due to pressure from parents, she gave herself up. B. Sammaiah of Deekshakunta joined the party in 2003 and worked as Area Rakshaka Dalam member propagating the party ideology in the Bhupalpalli area. Oddepalli Anusha of Buddaram village of Mulug Ghanpur mandal was a member of the Praja Prathighatana's Kashanna dalam. She earlier came out of the Janashakti and later due to force from the group, she joined the Praja Prathighatana. She got married to one underground member, Shyam who was recently arrested by the police in Karimnagar. She decided to surrender to live with her husband. Guguloth Padma of Chikinepally of Bhupalpalli mandal worked as member of Janashakti's Naganna dalam and was involved in the recent exchange of fire at Jangupalli. S Bikshapathi of Narlapur of Parkal mandal joined the Janashakti in 2004 and worked in the Kiran dalam operating in Tadvai, Eturunagaram and Mangapet mandals. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravindra wanted all the naxalites who were involved in the Bollepalli exchange of fire to surrender. No case would be booked against them if they heeded the call, he added.
