NELLORE, FEB. 1. The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, P. Lakshmi, has said a mega medical camp will be held at the Government Headquarters Hospital on February 20. Addressing a meeting of officials, public representatives, doctors and functionaries of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), in the video conference hall at the Collectorate on Tuesday, the Minister claimed the camp would be one of the biggest in the country, with more than 300 specialists drawn from 25 faculties such as cardiology, ophthalmology, general medicine and ENT, from reputed institutions like Apollo, Vijaya, Ramachandra, L.V. Prasad Eye Institute and Sankara Nethralaya participating. The Nellore MLA, Anam Vivekananda Reddy, the Rapur MLA, A. Ramanarayana Reddy, and the Kovur MLA, P. Srinivasulu Reddy, attended the meeting. The National President, IMA, Sudupto Roy and the Secretary-General, Vijay Agarwal, appreciated the Ministry's gesture and said the medical community would extend all out support to the camp. An exhibition and film shows on health will also form part of the camp. The Collector, B. Rajsekhar and other officials were present.
