A presentation on relief and rehabilitation measures the Union Territory Administration undertook was made at a meeting the MPs had with the Lt. Governor. The MPs had a meeting with the Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, later.

An official source said the team visited some of the tsunami-hit areas in Lawspet block here.

The committee was scheduled to visit the tsunami-hit villages in Cuddalore district tomorrow on their way to Karaikal.

They would visit villages in Karaikal and hold talks with the Regional Administrator on February 3, before going to Nagapattinam for an assessment of the damage there before returning to Chennai.
