freenet selects Infinera for networking
BANGALORE: German Internet-based service provider, freenet, has chosen the digital optical networking systems of Infinera for upgrading its nationwide backbone. Infinera, in a release here, said the systems, based on breakthrough photonic integrated circuit technology, were selected in view of its simpler operatability, faster delivery and flexible features. These features allow freenet to maximise both service quality and network profitability, it said. Infinera Chief Executive Officer, Jagdeep Singh, said the network would support over six million Internet customers of freenet.
