PATHANAMTHITTA, FEB. 1. The Kerala Lottery Samrakshana Samiti (KLSS) organised a dharna before the Mini Civil Station here today, demanding immediate lifting of the ban on lotteries. The KLSS State convenor, Saleem P.Chacko, inaugurated the dharna staged by lottery agents and workers. Mr. Chacko alleged that the totally `unwarranted' ban on lottery has plunged into poverty more than four-lakh families who had been depending on the lottery sale for earning a living. He also urged the Government to strictly enforce the ban on online lotteries and private `paper' lotteries with immediate effect. The samiti leaders, K. V. Vinayachandran, Suresh Mullamangalam, S.M.Meeran and P.V.K.Khader also spoke.
