Top leaders for CPI State meet

By Our Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA, FEB.1. The 22nd State Conference of the Communist Party of India (CPI) will be held from February 6 to 9 at Nalgonda, according to State Executive Member and former MLA, K. Subba Raju.

In a press release here on Tuesday, Mr. Subbaraju said Nalgonda was chosen as the venue of the conference because it was an important centre from where Left party activists waged the historic Telangana Armed Struggle.

The CPI all-India general secretary, A.B. Bardhan, and the secretary, D. Raja, would participate in the conference. Over 800 delegates would come from all over the State to attend the conference. The 19th national conference of the party would be held in Chandigarh from March 29 to April 3. Delegates from 30 communist countries hade already expressed their willingness to participate in the national conference, Mr. Subba Raju said.
