Raja's kin `prevented' from addressing media
By Our Staff Reporter
TIRUNELVELI,
FEB. 1.
The police today allegedly prevented the kin of S.A. Raja, who has been accused in Aladi Aruna's murder case, from addressing the media.
After his son, Joy Raja, contacted newspaper offices here to inform them of a proposed press conference to be held at their hotel, Raja Towers, in the evening, the mediapersons assembled there. But a posse of policemen was deployed in and in front of the hotel.
A couple of top police officials reportedly met Mr. Raja's sons and asked them to cancel the press conference immediately.
The press meet did not begin even after 5.30 p.m., the reporters were waiting indefinitely. When the reporters were about to leave the hall, Mr. Joy Raja and his younger brother, Jesus Raja rushed to the venue and told the reporters that they had been warned by the police against conducting the press meet to express their views on the arrest of their father.
