NTPC commissions new unit

NEW DELHI, FEB. 1. The NTPC today announced that it had commissioned the third unit of the Rihand Super Thermal Power Project, which would enhance the project's installed capacity to 1500 MW from the current 1000 MW. The 500-MW unit has been synchronised eight months ahead of schedule, it said.

The Corporation has also made significant progress in the construction of the 500-MW fourth unit of the project. -PTI
