The decision was also convened to the Chairman of Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Mukesh Goel. Mr.Sharma suggested that the MCD find out other means of raising resources and cut down its own expenditure to meet such expenses instead of putting additional burden on the people.
Yearbook released
The President appreciated the high quality maintained by the book. He stressed the importance of agricultural advances made in India and suggested that the book could propagate this and educate people on how to use them. The book carries a wealth of information on India and the world. Free copies of the book have been sent to various school libraries so that poor students could also be benefited.
New posting for Rajiv Talwar
A 1978 batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Mr Talwar was also the Principal Secretary (PR and MRTS) and Chairman of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). He had earlier served in Meghalaya Tourism and Goa Tourism, in Civil Aviation and Labour Ministries and as Administrator in Lakshadweep. Following Mr Talwar's transfer, the Managing Director of DTC, Sanjeev Nandan Sahai, who is also an IAS officer, has taken over acting charge of all the posts he held in Delhi.
Seminar organised
The day-long seminar was divided into two sessions. The theme of the first session was "Recruiting, Developing and Empowering People for Customer Delight''. The topic for the second session was "Sales and Marketing Practises for Customer Delight''. The Director of CSC, Pramod Sadarjoshi, was the chief guest.
Palika Kendra opened
The Kendra will provide civic services like receiving payments in respect of shops and offices licence fee, electricity and water bills, registration of grievances, issuance of birth and death certificates and booking of barat ghars. These services can be availed of between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The third such Kendra will shortly be opened at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Place in Gole Market, she added.
New PFCL director
A commerce graduate from the DAV Jalandhar and an MBA (Finance) from the University Business School of Chandigarh, Mr. Singh has about 26 years of varied experience. After his initial exposure to power generating companies like the National Thermal Power Corporation and NJPC, Mr. Singh moved on to the Power Finance Corporation Ltd. in 1996 as the Deputy General Manager of Finance.
