PATHANAMTHITTA, FEB. 1. The 143rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated at the Thukalasserry Sree Ramakrishna Ashram with religious fervour today. The Ashram chief, Swami Samagrananda, performed a Magalarathi followed by vedic chanting and special pooja at the Ashram temple in the morning. Gokulam Ramesh delivered a discourse on the Gospel of Sree Ramakrishna. P. R. Parameswara Kurup and T. G. Purushothaman Nair also spoke. Swami Samagrananda released a philosophical volume, Quest for Wisdom, written by Swami Ramanujananda of the Sree Ramakrishna order, on the occasion. The first copy of the book was handed over to R. Rajashekhar at the function. The Quest for wisdom, based on Tulsidas's Dohavali, is his eighth philosophical volume which has been brought out in a series. T. Geetha, Head of the Department of Philosophy at the NSS Hindu College, Changanacherry released the earlier volume, Quest for Oneness, based on the Sankara philosophy. The other works of the seer in the `Quest' series are, Quest for knowledge, Quest for Monism, Quest for Absolutism, Quest for Grace, Quest for Immortality and the Quest for Crow. The anniversary fete came to a close with singing of bhajans.
