MANGALORE, FEB. 1. A woman who fell from a bus that moved suddenly died of injuries at a private hospital here on Monday. The police said the victim Julianna D'Souza was travelling with Eurice D'Souza. When she was alighting from the bus near the Nelyadi telephone office on National Highway 48, the bus moved forward resulting in the victim losing balance. Although she was shifted to Mangalore for treatment, Julianna died. The Uppinangady Police have registered a case.
Stolen
A gang of persons stole a mobile phone belonging to the Deputy Commandant, Indian Coast Guard, Aniketh Singh, and his wife's mangalsutra from their residence at Regent Park Layout, Hosabettu, in the Suratkal Police Station limits. According to a complaint lodged by Mr. Aniketh Singh, the phone and the mangalsutra valued at Rs. 21,000 were taken away through an open window of the house.
Drowned
Poovappa Poojary (50) was reportedly drowned when he was crossing a rivulet at Addoor-Tarikeri. The Bajpe Police have registered a case.
