EC files cases

NEW DELHI, FEB. 1. The Election Commission has registered cases against Miljaanib Anjuman and Guddu Arts Press, Patna, in connection with the appearance of posters highlighting the Godhra riots in the Muslim-dominated Bhagalpur and Nathnagar constituencies in Bihar witnessing the first phase of elections on February 3.

A first information report has been registered under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Representation of the People Act.

The Superintendent of Police, Bhagalpur, has been directed to investigate and submit his report immediately, sources in the Commission have said.
