CHENNAI, FEB. 1. A 20-year-old college student was killed on the spot after being hit by a train while he was crossing the railway track between Chetpet and Egmore railway stations on Tuesday. According to the Government Railway police, M. Gopinath of Arakkonam was studying in the Pachaiyappa's College here. The body was removed to the Government General hospital for post-mortem. In another accident, a 25-year-old man succumbed to injuries at the Government General hospital on Tuesday. Police said Siva of Porur was travelling on the footboard of an MTC bus when he hit the railings of the bridge on Royapettah High Road. He was dragged to some distance and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to the Government Royapettah hospital from where he was shifted to the Government General hospital, where he died, the police said.
