Woman sustains burns in suicide bid

VIJAYAWADA, FEB. 1. T. Sujatha, 19, a resident of Chittinagar, suffered 90 per cent burns when she attempted suicide on Tuesday. Sujatha had a fight with her neighbour, Sridevi, near the public tap on Monday. It led to a scuffle and their spouses had to intervene. Sujatha's husband reportedly chided her over this last night. On Tuesday, she doused herself in kerosene and set herself afire. Sources in the hospital said Sujatha was in a critical condition.
