2.4 mm rainfall recorded

Gannavaram airport recorded a maximum temperature of 26.5 degree Celsius and minimum of 19.9 degree Celsius on Tuesday. Humidity, which was 96 per cent in the morning, fell to 72 per cent in the evening. Rainfall of 2.4 mm was recorded since Monday evening. The day was overcast.

Commodity prices

The following were the prices (in rupees per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Tuesday: groundnut oil - 48.50, palmolein oil - 37.50 sunflower oil - 47, tamarind (flower variety) - 19 to 25, tamarind (karipuli variety) - 32 to 36, chillies (refrigerated) - 20 to 26, chillies - 18 to20, rice (2716) - 12, rice superfine - 12.50, Samba Masoori 14 to14.50, Sona Masoori - 15 to 16, black gram (pottu minapappu) - 18 to 24, red gram desavali (kandipappu) - 21, Pandiripalem - 22.50, Nagpur 26.50.

Haryana team visits VMC

A team of officials from Haryana on a tour to study the functioning of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) visited the Municipal Commissioner's office.

They visited the vegetable and laughterhouse waste treatment plant and Sriram Energy Systems. It also visited eSeva centres and VOICE project, according to a press release.
