75 lakh members enrolled in Congress

CHENNAI,
FEB. 1.
The Congress has enrolled about 75 lakh members in the State, following a membership drive.
Elections to posts will soon be held at the panchayat, taluk, district and State levels.
Talking to newsmen here today, the State president, G.K. Vasan, said the partymen wanted the election process completed early. It would help the party face the general election confidently.
The pradesh election authority chairman, Akhileshdas, who is in charge of Tamil Nadu, today discussed party elections with coordination committee members, MPs, MLAs, and senior leaders, said Mr. Vasan.
