Tsunami relief

COIMBATORE, FEB.1. The Tea Trade Association of Coimbatore has contributed Rs.1.10 lakhs to the district administration to provide relief to tsunami victims.

Civilian employees of the 5 Base Repair Depot (BRD), Indian Air Force, Sulur, have contributed Rs.65,000 by way of a day's salary. The drive for collecting the relief amount had been organised by the Defence Civilian Employees Association of the 5 BRD.

Power charges

Electricity consumers in the following areas of Ponniahrajapuram and Ramanathapuram have been requested to pay consumption charges billed for November 2004, as the charges for January 2005, as the assessment was not carried out for that month.

Consumers should pay before February 15, to avoid disconnection. Any difference would be adjusted against the March 2005 bill, according to a release from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB):

Grievances meet

The Superintending Engineer, Coimbatore Electricity Distribution Circle, North, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), will conduct a grievances meeting at the Office of the Executive Engineer, K. Vadamadurai, at 11 a.m. on February 2, according to a release.

Course

A ten-day course on `Spoken Samskritham' will be conducted by the Kovaipudur unit of Samskritha Bharathi, between 7.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. from February 4 to 13 at the Garuda Muth, Kamakshi Nagar, Kovaipudur.
